Mondrian London at Sea Containers has unveiled its boutique 56- seat screening room, featuring a state-of-the-art 4K digital projection and Dolby 7.1 surround sound.

The location will play host to regular weekend-long collaborations with Curzon Cinemas.

In line with the hotel’s stylish nautical theme, the intimate screening room is an artwork in itself, with 1970s inspired 3D wall sculpture, soft navy furnishings and authentic brass features salvaged from the original Sea Containers building.

The screening room is available to book for events during the week, along with four flexible conference rooms on the same self-contained floor.

Curzon takes over the space and programming at weekends, showing a curated mix of first run releases, family favourites and cinema classics.

The arthouse hits are available for both hotel guests and the public to enjoy on Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays every week.

Curzon Cinemas is one of the UK’s leading independent cinema groups with fifteen venues across the country and an innovative home cinema service, Curzon Home Cinema.

In keeping with Curzon’s reputation for stellar venues, Mondrian London is the first hotel project for the group – developed by Design Research Studio under the creative direction of Tom Dixon.

Over the coming weeks, guests can expect new releases such as Russian drama, Leviathan, and crime thriller, The Drop – staring Tom Hardy – along with a host of festive family favourites, including A Muppets Christmas Carol and Polar Express.

Adult ticket prices start from £8 per person.
