The man who most Millennial travel agents considered the face of G Adventures for the last three years left the company December 19 for one of its main competitors. And Travel Agent has the scoop.
Ron Fenska, the former director of sales for G Adventures, officially took over the role of Intrepid Travel’s vice president of global sales in North America in the beginning of January.
Intrepid Travel is a small group adventure travel company that offers roughly 800 scheduled itineraries. Fenska will work at both the company’s Toronto and Petaluma, CA offices.
“We have some big plans for the U.S. market,” says Fenska of his new company.
Fenska was also with Collette Vacations for 18 years before he started with G Adventures, where he helped it grow from an $18 million company to a $48 million company during his three-year tenure, Fenska says. G Adventures is one of the largest small group adventure travel companies in the world and offers socially and environmentally sensitive travel.
Fenska has also been involved, in some capacity, with Questex Media Group’s Young Travel Leaders Conference in previous years. He served as a panelist two years ago and has been a vital link between G Adventures and its younger travel agent partners.
“I’m going to miss a lot of people at G (Adventures) and I will never forget what that company has done for me in the last three years,” says Fenska, “but I’m very excited to take on this new challenge.”
