SuperStar Virgo takes up homeport in Guangzhou

SuperStar Virgo, the first cruise ship designed and built for the Asian market, has begun her year-round homeport in Guangzhou Nansha Port.

With 1,860 passengers, SuperStar Virgo’s first inaugural six day cruise from the new cruise terminal in Guangzhou (Nansha port) called at Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site on Tuesday, Danang in central Vietnam on Wednesday and Sanya, Hainan on Thursday before returning to Guangzhou (Nansha port) on Friday.

Accounting for over 1,300 passengers during the inaugural sailing, Zhu Shaodong, president of GZL International Travel Service said: “SuperStar Virgo’s homeport deployment in Guangzhou (Nansha port) is beneficial for the cruise industry in the Pearl River Delta region, providing our passengers a convenient holiday option departing right from their doorsteps.

“Our guests have really been enjoying the many new food and beverage and entertainment enhancements that Star Cruises has developed for these new itineraries and the market response has been very favourable.”

Every SuperStar Virgo voyage provides a convenient and inclusive holiday package in the Pearl River Delta as it includes accommodations, up to six meals a day in three free restaurants with balcony class passengers enjoying exclusive complimentary set menus at additional specialty themed restaurants; non-stop entertainment with international production shows, five bands, free movies, private karaoke rooms, Beatship by Zouk, yoga and other onboard activities – all conveniently housed in a world-class cruise ship.

To allow guests to stay connected with social media, complimentary one hour satellite internet connection will also offered free.
