So if you’re among the road tripping set this week, you’ll need to strategize in order to avoid some of the year’s worst traffic. With the help of our friends at Google Maps, we’ve analyzed the best and worst times to drive on Wednesday—when most people will hit the road—so that you can be best prepared for a stress-free journey.

Methodology: Google Maps analyzed the total number of cars on the road at a given time, looking at the speed of vehicles with location-services-enabled android smartphones. Traffic is measured for the year 2013.
