If you’ve been stalling on a trip to Napa in hopes of experiencing the currently-closed bastion of California fine dining, it’s time to book those tickets: The French Laundry is reopening on April 7. Among the reasons to act now? OpenTable is currently showing plenty of available seats—a phenomenon not likely to last, given popularity of chef Thomas Keller’s flagship. And soon, Keller will be transitioning reservations to Tock, a new reservations and ticketing system where diners are asked to pay for their meals up front.
It just so happens that April is a great time to visit Napa: the peak season is just beginning, which means the rainy days are over but the crowds have yet to arrive. Another perk? Shoulder season deals at many top hotels. Consider your savings a contribution toward that $295 tasting menu.
