This week in the cruise industry has brought another slate of executive shifts from major cruise lines.

Holland America Line has appointed Margaret Durante to the position of vice president, human resources. In this newly created role she will lead the company’s human resources department in enhancing the employee experience. She also will have responsibilities for other Carnival Corporation brands, including Seabourn, Princess Cruises and P&O Australia.

Durante, who is based in Seattle, Washington, at the Holland America Line headquarters, will report to Elana Siegel, senior vice president, human resources.

Fellow Carnival Corp. brand Princess Cruises has created a role of its own: senior vice president, international sales, to be filled by the newly promoted Trey Hickey.

In his most recent position as vice president of international sales, Hickey spearheaded the sales strategy in Asia by converting the existing general sales agent (GSA) network he built into Carnival Corp. offices in Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea and Singapore. He currently lives in Shanghai, where he will continue to focus on the sales expansion.

Finally, MSC Cruises has hired Marianne Sequeira as the line's new national accounts manager.

Sequeira will be responsible for maintaining relationships with consortia, franchise and host agency partners, plus developing new relationships. She will also oversee new programs designed to highlight the line's upcoming new ships and new private island, Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve.
