Park Hyatt Tokyo has welcomed of Hervé Mazella to the role of general manager of the iconic luxury hotel.

Mazella will oversee operations of the intimate 177-room hotel located in Nishi-Shinjuku, Tokyo.

He was born in Provence and studied at a hotel academy in France before furthering his studies in hotel management in both France and Germany and going on to receive a masters in hospitality.

Mazella has a strong passion for culinary arts and the “Arts de la table”.

In 2004, he moved to Monte Carlo to join the events team of Le Méridien Hotel and then became the director of operations at their sister property on the Côte d’Azur.

His last position with Starwood Hotels & Resorts group was in Cairo, where he was director of food and beverage and executive assistant manager.

In 2012, Mazella joined Hyatt International in Hong Kong, first as executive assistant manager – food and beverage, and later promoted to hotel manager of Grand Hyatt Hong Kong.

Mazella replaces Philippe Roux-Dessarps, who has been general manager of Park Hyatt Tokyo since September 2008.

Upon his appointment Mazella said: “It is a privilege for me to take over from Philippe Roux-Dessarps who has achieved many milestones with the team over the past seven years for which I have lot of respect for.

“I am looking forward to joining the team to continue creating memorable experiences for our guests at Park Hyatt Tokyo and sharing our passion for hospitality.”
