The Los Cabos Tourism Board has announced its sponsorship of the Los Cabos International Film Festival, taking place November 11 – 15, for the fourth consecutive year.
In preparation for the festival this fall, the Los Cabos International Film Festival has partnered with the Cannes Film Festival's Marché du Film.
As part of the “Los Cabos Goes to Cannes” partnership, the Los Cabos Film Festival will select four participating Mexican films at post-production stage from Cabos in Progress 2015 to take part in the 2016 Marché du Film. The winning filmmakers will have the opportunity to show their work to producers, distributors, sales agents, services companies, film funds and international film festival representatives at the Cannes Film Festival in 2016. Los Cabos Film Festival and the Marché du Film will provide support to these filmmakers to attend the Cannes Market.
The films will be selected from Cabos in Progress and the Gabriel Figueroa Film Fund programs that support films in post-production stage either produced or co-produced in Mexico.
This year's festival will feature national and international premieres, red carpet gala events (past celebrity attendees have included Rosario Dawson, Reese Witherspoon, Matt Dillon, Deigo Luna, Gael Garcia, Josh Lucas and Edward Norton) as well as a series of industry activities aimed at strengthening links and increasing collaboration among filmmakers in Mexico, USA and Canada.
The call for entries for Cabos in Progress and the Gabriel Figueroa Film Fund are open until July 31, 2015.
